LS MISS L1 GOLD 8N6
This is a cow with an amazing and rare set of papers on her with Nash breeding top and bottom. She's an old gal but every one of her calves are keepers, we just recently added her to our program and look forward to the productive years that she has left. She's found a forever cow home in our program!click to enlarge pedigree
LS MISS TWIN MT 8KD2
This is another one of our gramma' cows. She is a paternal sister to Liberty Rock 431 and is a big framey gal that raises an excellent calf each year. Her udder conformation leaves some to be desired but we have begun improving this trait in her daughters-grandaughters with strict bull selection.click to enlarge pedigree
GRAVSMA'S MISS BRENNA
"The Bomber" is a really nice small cow with some great "Kentucky" and Largent genetics in her. We lease her from the wonderful folks Carmen and Shirley Gravning from North Dakota. We have so enjoyed the relationship that we have gotten to develop with these wonderful people through cows. click to enlarge pedigree
GRAVNING'S BRENNA JUNE
This is a granddaughter of 8KD2, she has produced three beautiful heifers calves for us so far. Her calves have great eye pigment even though she lacks it. She produces very showy, very correct, calves. We look forward to many years of her genetic contribution to our bunch.click to enlarge pedigree
WHITT'S LIBERTY ROCKSTAR
We were thrilled when we were able to aquire these four head of Liberty bred heifers as weaners. "61" has slowly grown on Mom and I as becoming our favorite heifer in this group. She has a great disposition and is just pretty to look at. A well balanced udder and a refined head top of the overall package that she brings.Look forward to years of her productivity.click to enlarge pedigree
WHITT'S LIBERTY ROCKETTE
62 has very much the same body style and build as her half sister 61 but she lacks some refinement in her head. She has a really nice udder and is a slightly heavier built cow with more bone under her than 61 or 63. Her calves are very typey and consistent and she consistently produces some of our top bulls.click to enlarge pedigree
WHITT'S LIBERTY ROCK HOUND
Crazy Cora as she is loving referred to around our place is the lightest built cow of this bunch but has great pigment and a very nice balanced udder. She lacks some of the balance of her other sisters but has amazing calves that are well balanced thick and wide, her heifers are proving to be nice well balanced cows.click to enlarge pedigree
WHITT'S LIBERTY ROCKMYSOCKSOFF
This cow is a very easy keeper and converts grass like nothing you've seen! She has one of the biggest stoutest calves at the end of the year all while maintaing an above average body condition. A nice udder and a really thick and deep body tops off the package. She's an easy going mother cow but takes good care of 'em!click to enlarge pedigree
LH HOPES POPPY 604
This little cow is top and bottom Liberty bred from the good folks in Montana. We believe with some good outcross bulls that she will put some great calves on the ground. We look forward to her spring 2012 calf out of a polled out cross bull. click to enlarge pedigree
LH HOPE 701
This is another top and bottom bred Liberty cow from Devern Gingrich of Liberty Herefords in Montana. She is a daughter of Liberty Rock 431 and we are especially excited about what her 2012 calf out of an outcross polled bull will look like. click to enlarge pedigree
WHITT'S SHORT CAKE
0801 is out of cow 51 and our herd bull 403. There is something about this little cow that just really turns your head when you see her out on pasture. She's a nice deep cow and just has a style about her that we like, she produces deep, well centered, low to the round calves, and has already proven herself as a producer.click to enlarge pedigree
WHITT'S MISS PINEY CREEK
This cow is top and bottom Largent bred but has a relatively high concentration of "Kentucky" breeding in her lineage. She produces a nice genetic cross with our Liberty bulls to put a well rounded genetic combination on the ground. She's a real sweetheart and an in your back pocket sort of cow.click to enlarge pedigree
WHITT'S MISS CARTER MT
This is a daughter of 8KD2 and out of herd bull 403. She's long, deep, and wide and overall cannot find fault with her as a producing cow that replicates her style well in her calves. It's very rewarding to see your home raised heifers go on to produce outstanding calves back into your program. click to enlarge pedigree
WHITT'S NAUGHTY PINE
This cow is on the small end of our frame scores but has an amazing pelvic width and heart girth. She does not have the most feminine head but has proven to not pass the trait to her calves. A nice young cow that we look forward to years or productivity from. Strong "Kentucky" breeding in her lineage.click to enlarge pedigree
WHITT'S GOOD GOLLY MISS MOLLY
Molly is Britt's 2008 bucket calf who has turned into a very nice little cow. In 2011 she layed down on her own and had a very nice little heifer calf that you can view under the "Birth of a Calf" link on our website. She brings some very nice outcross genetics into our program and has proven to cross well with Liberty bulls. click to enlarge pedigree
WHITT'S PRETTY PINE
This young cow is a nice representation of what our Liberty bulls crossed on high quality "old" genetics will do. This cow's dam is strongly Kentucky bred and 403 came together to make a very well rounded nice mama cow. We look forward to her first calf in 2012 and have high hopes that her positive traits will move forward and be propagated in our herd.click to enlarge pedigree
WHITT'S BOBBY SOCKS
We are very excited to begin seeing type and consistenty in our young cows through our continued work with genetics. This young cow is homeraised top and bottom Liberty bred out of cow 64, we are very excited to see her first calf in 2012 and hope that her dam's maternal traits are as strong in her. click to enlarge pedigree
MILLY
Milly is actually out of a commercial hereford red angus cross cow herd that one of our neighbors runs. She had a rough go as a youngster, her mom died out on range ground, and she was orphaned very young, we brought her home to be Molly's bum calf friend. She's polled and obviously unregistered. We'll see how she does being exposed to our heifer calf bull this year.
910
Black commerical cow, that we are intergrating into our crossbred program.
Scottish Highlander Cow
'The Golden Yak" this little cow is Britt's favorite when moving cows because she'll look for a gate a mile away, she's good at taking the lead and getting them where they need to go. She's a really protective mother and her steer calves are amazing nice deep beef calves. She's head of the pecking order because of the head gear she's packing but it only becomes a problem in small areas. We are really impressed out how much pelvis and depth this cow has. This cow is also leased from Gravning's Miniature Acres
Scottish Highlander X Cow
The above cow is this little heifers dam, she was dehorned as a calf. She's "The Bronze Yak" and is just a really sweet little cow that will come up to you in the pasture to see if you have any goodies for her. She is also leased from Gravning's Miniature Acres.
Alice
Alice was one of Ginger's "projects" in 2011 since we are always curious of cross breeding Heritage Herefords with other types and styles of cattle, we have kept Alice to see what a very large framed commercial black cow will produce when crossed on our bulls.
Ginger
Can't forget the milk cows! Ginger really isn't the greatest milk cow in the world to be honest, she's a little too happy to kick your knee caps off, BUT Ginger will take literally any calf that's in the pen with her which makes her invaluable when it comes to raising bum calves!
Nuk-Nuk
Is hopefully going to be more forthcoming and easy to get along with as a milk cow. Pure bred Jersey and just the sweetest little thing.
